For decades, college-aged people have found life-changing community at the Onyx House.
Onyx is a sixty-student co-ed house that makes space for students from different cities, states, and nations to chase their goals, academically and personally, while growing in Christ.
Faith Center runs, operates, and maintains the house as an extension of the church’s college-age ministry.

The Onyx House is much more than a place to live. It is a place to develop key relationships (God, others, ourselves) in the context of a community of other followers of Jesus. It is a place to grow together – celebrating and enjoying the good times, and supporting and encouraging each other through tough times. Whether it is attending a service on a Friday night, enjoying a meal at the house, or living here while you work on your college education, we hope that this is a place where you experience the love of Jesus in tangible, practical, and wholistic ways similar to what we read about the earliest Christian community (Acts 2:42-74).
The House
Every Friday night during the school year at 6:00PM, the Onyx House hosts dinner, followed by a worship service at 7:00PM. Both are open for all college-age adults. At the Friday gatherings, we sing, pray, study the scriptures and receive communion together, and just hang out. This is a time to gather with other students to focus our minds and hearts on Jesus and to share His love with one another, while connecting with old friends and meeting new ones.

Julie Langenberg, College Pastor
Julie started attending Faith Center with her husband Chris in 2001 and was on the church staff in a variety of roles for several years before pursuing a degree in Religious Studies at the UO. Julie now works at the UO Knight Campus as a project manager, is a licensed Foursquare minister, and has been overseeing Faith Center's college age ministry since 2021. In addition to pastoring, Julie and her husband Chris live on-site at the Onyx House serving as house parents. Married for over 20 years, Chris and Julie have two grown daughters and a son-in-law, and are always up for good food, a good conversation, and a good hike!

Jenna Seeley, '24-'25 House Manager - Women's Floor
Jenna is the women’s floor manager at the Onyx house. Jenna was born and raised in Eugene and began attending Faith Center at the age of 14. Jenna previously worked at Faith Center as the grade school director and currently serves in the high school ministry. Jenna got involved at Onyx in 2019 when she was getting ready to graduate high school. She has been participating in Friday night services ever since. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services. In her free time, you can find Jenna having coffee dates with her friends (most likely at Vero), holding babies, fishing/being outdoors, dreaming of traveling, and constantly singing!

Ryan Burch, ‘24-‘25 House Manager - Men’s Floor
Ryan is the Men’s Floor Manager at Onyx House this year. Ryan was born here in Eugene and just recently graduated from UO in the spring with a bachelor’s degree in criminology. He currently also works for UO’s Police Department. Ryan has been a part of Onyx ministry for several years and has been at Eugene Faith Center even longer, serving in both the children’s and high school ministries. In his free time, Ryan enjoys photography, fellowship, making people laugh, and staying active.
